Featured Success Story
“I approached Job Interviewology as I was undertaking a round of interviews with a couple of different firms at Director level and was looking to brush up on my interview approach. Realistically, I initially hoped for someone I could use as a sounding board but my coach offered much more than that- he was able to build an understanding of my character, strengths and weaknesses and provide actionable techniques as to how I could enhance my “ok” responses to interview questions and take them to the next level. I was able to secure a new role and would recommend Job Interviewology’s services which I feel were integral to my success.”

What is an executive interview?
An executive interview is conducted at C-Suite, VP and Director level. From our executive interview coaching knowledge and experience the whole interview process usually consists of at least two interviews with a wide range of senior management or board members present at any one interview. The interview type will most likely be a behavioural interview, which could then be used a catalyst for follow up questions and evolve to a conversation. Also it’s not uncommon for the interviewee to be required to also provide a short presentation at the beginning of at least one of the interviews followed by a Q&A.
How do I prepare for an executive level interview?
When preparing for an executive interview there are areas that you need to take in consideration to provide a high level performance.
- Is there enough depth in your answer.
- Do I understand the bigger picture regarding the market and the organisation.
- Am I carrying myself with gravitas.
Our executive interview coaching will focus on helping you to develop in these areas to ensure that you are able to present the strongest version of you in the interview.
How do you ace an executive level interview?
Similar to the below advice you have to make sure you prepare properly. However if all your preparation is on point, then it’s about ensuring that you’re nice and relaxed before the interview. Just like a sprinter getting ready for the 100 metre final, the more calm you are the better you will flow and raise your performance level. Our team of trainers have extensive executive interview coaching experience therefore we’ll make sure that just like an athlete in a high stakes game, you are able to perform at your very best.
What questions will the ask at an executive interview?
Any professional who is preparing for an executive interview should have at least four questions absolutely nailed down. These are as follows:
- Why have you applied for this role?
- Talk us through your CV and experiences?
- What motivates you?
- How would you describe your leadership philosophy and approach?
The other questions are likely to be role and organisation specific therefore it is important to learn how to extrapolate potential questions using the job description. This is something our executive training programme can help you with.
